Actually, Tony began satirizing the rock world much earlier. After working with John Cleese and Graham Chapman in the “Cambridge University Footlights Revue,” the pudgy blond teamed with dark-haired straight man Nick Ullett. They recorded “To Be Or Not To Be, Babe” a spitting satire on the pretentiousness of the folk-rock movement

May 16, 2012 7:54 Snap is expected to fetch up to £9,000 Photo Gallery: The Beatles Photo: Bloomsbury Auctions A rare photograph showing The Beatles walking ‘backwards’ across Abbey Road is set to fetch up to £9,000 at auction. The snap, taken by late photographer Iain Macmillan, shows the band walking right to left across the zebra crossing outside the London studio where they made their 1969 album – the opposite direction to the picture which made it onto the sleeve.

The metal plates were used to print words and illustrations by the Beatle in the 1964 book John Lennon, In His Own Write, – the first solo project by any of The Beatles. Featuring a photo of Lennon taken by Robert Freeman, the book included an introduction by Paul McCartney detailing how the band first got together in Liverpool and contained Lennon’s short stories, poems and line drawings, often surreal, whimsical and nonsensical with the Beatle using free association and improvisation. The book was also transformed into a play, co-authored with Victor Spinetti, who directed, at the National Theatre
